The first seminar for OIE national focal points for animal welfare was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 9 – 11 November 2010. This event, financed within the framework of the DG-SANCO funded BTSF for Africa programme, gathered 40 participants, amongst which focal points from 31 countries.
The Ethiopian Minister of State for Agriculture opened this important training event. The seminar was concluded with a visit to some initiatives for the promotion of animal welfare for donkeys and horses in Debre-Zeit.
