On 18 September 2023, Ms Lamia Tira officially joined WOAH as Administrative and Financial Assistant at the WOAH Sub-Regional Representation for North Africa, based in Tunis, Tunisia.
Her role is to ensure the speedy, efficient and transparent use of financial and administrative resources, to provide services in compliance with the Organisation’s financial rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and to promote a customer-oriented approach, in coordination with WOAH headquarters, with the aim of exchanging information and ensuring consistent service delivery.
A Tunisian national, Lamia is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Tunis El Manar. Lamia has a wealth of experience at both national and international level, having worked in a number of different fields.
She has also worked for a number of international organisations as well as for civil society, most recently as financial and administrative manager for a Tunisian association. She takes over from Ms Noura Khlaif, the former administrative and financial assistant.
