The 6th REEV-Med Executive Committee meeting was held in Tunis (Tunisia) on 17 January 2017.
It was officially opened by the President, Pr Nihad Fejzic (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The Vice-president, Dr Ehab Abu-Basha (Jordan), the Treasurer, Dr Isabelle Chmitelin (France), Dr Pier Paolo Gatta (Italy) and Dr Naim Deniz Ayaz (Turkey) were also present. The Secretary, Pr Samir Ben Romdane (Tunisia), and the Honorary President, Pr André Laurent Parodi (France), could not attend this meeting.
The OIE was represented by Dr Tomoko Ishibashi, Senior Manager, Standards Development and Horizontal Management Framework, in charge, among other issues, of veterinary education issues at OIE headquarters.
The OIE Sub-Regional Representation for North Africa acted as Secretariat and organised the meeting.

The main objective of this meeting was to update the statute of the REEV-Med association in order to propose a new version to be adopted during the next General Assembly meeting. The Treasurer presented the financial report of the association whose bank account is now opened in Toulouse (France). The President suggested that the Executive Committee elaborates an annual work plan to be validated by the General Assembly. Dr Naim Deniz Ayaz proposed to host the next meeting in Turkey if it could be joint to an international event on the veterinary field. The President also offered to create a website dedicated to REEV-Med activities in order to increase the reputation of the network
