P3V Project : WOAH facilitates training on clinical examination of ruminants and domestic carnivores

This 8-minute, 35-second video aims to concisely and clearly describe the various stages of a clinical examination in ruminants and carnivores.

Content:

The video covers the basic consultation equipment used. It describes the entire clinical examination process:

It emphasises the need to adapt the systematic approach according to the species:

• Ruminants: Emphasis is placed on functional assessment of the digestive system (rumen) and inspection of the hindquarters.

• Carnivores: Emphasis is placed on detailed abdominal palpation and thorough examination of the mucous membranes and lymph nodes.

The countries represented at the training sessions were:
1. Benin
2. Senegal
3. Togo
