A trap captures bats that strike the plastic ropes while flying. They slide into the tissue receptacle where pockets keep them captive and safe.

In 2023, Virologie, the official journal of the French Society of Virology, released a special edition focusing on the scientific excellence and achievements of the EBO-SURSY Project. This special issue collates the diverse research that the project has funded over the seven years since its conception, focusing particularly on animal, human and ecological health.
