The digital solution called MUPSA (Manuel à l’Usage du Personnel de Santé Animale) or Manual for use by Animal Health Personnel is a digital innovation developed as part of the P3V Project to facilitate access to a technical resource for the continuing education of animal health professionals. MUPSA is a continuing education resource and reference tool for the field. It contains five sections organised around the main animal health areas. Each section provides simple, illustrated explanations of the key concepts that community workers, veterinary assistants and private and/or public veterinarians working in sub-Saharan Africa need to understand in their daily work. The role of each of these actors, the recognition of priority animal diseases and basic animal health techniques are presented in this tool.
The E-MUPSA reproduces in digital form the technical content of the work originally developed by the PRAPS Project, which has been printed and distributed in paper format for a long time. When the application is opened, the institutions and partners that contributed to the design and development of MUPSA are presented. Next, the application’s home interface, built around the five key parts of the MUPSA, appears, along with a tab reserved for the MUPSA appendices. This allows users to access sections such as:
.
Navigation within the application is user-friendly and intuitive, with tabs such as:
The Advanced Search (Recherche avancée) feature uses keywords to quickly find sections of MUPSA that deal with important topics such as vaccination, antibiotics, etc.
Favourites (Favoris) allow users to save important sections for later reading.
The Quiz section, which is the technical and educational innovation of E-MUPSA, allows users to check their understanding of the essential concepts developed in each section.
Finally, other important features are provided to users to further facilitate the use of MUPSA (Settings or Paramètres). These include the option of automatic text reading by an artificial intelligence voice, with a choice of male or female voices. The application also offers the possibility of sharing important sections with colleagues by exporting essential sections after reading.
The MUPSA digital tool therefore appears to be a leading solution for the continuing education needs of field workers, with its clear user interface facilitating the use of technical content through modern and intuitive navigation tools.
Its French language-only multi-platform accessibility (web and mobile), adaptability (suitable for all screens) and offline availability make this application a reliable ally for modern animal health professionals.
